Newsletter March 2007 Rose Haven Farm Store has now has been operating in its new Picton location for nearly 4 and half months. We are delighted to see many old customers who visited the shop on the farm have taken the time to find us in Picton. And many who drove by in the past now stop in. As far as we can see, this location is proving to be very popular for us. By the end of the month we should have our new sales desk in place. Finally a chance to continue to tidy up and make your retailing experience better. And we also hope to have our new counter with sinks and washing machine in our basement workshop area completed by the first week of April. Maple in the County is coming to Picton March 24 & 25. Rose Haven is slated to have Liesel, now a yearling visit us in the parking area (assuming not too much rain). Liesel, a very friendly young ewe, now belongs to Cindy & Colm MacCool of West Lake Road but promises to be on her best behaviour. Our yarn sale continues to the end of March. Many very nice yarns like Lavold’s Silky Wool, Colinette’s Giotto, and Harding’s Kimono Angora are on sale. We are also in the process of creating a clearance area for end of lines or no longer large lot yarns. Check these out. If you are interested in Felted Knits you should see the before and after samples made by Lynn MacCallum. Hard to imagine an I-cord can shrink that much! We now have in more delightful handspun yarns by Deborah Wilkins, some enough for garments but all sold individually. In addition, we are starting to receive our spring yarns and now have Rowan’s Damask and Bamboo Tape, Louisa Harding’s Cinnabar, Coquette, Mariposa & Shingle, Araucania’s Pehuen & Quellon, Online’s Tropic sock yarn, Sirdar’s Just Bamboo, Colinette’s Firecracker & Prism, Ella Rae’s Shibu, Debbie Bliss’ Pure Cotton & Stella and Jaeger’s Ascot. We are also in the process of ordering more Fleece Artist, Hand Maiden and Koigu. |
